The Reunion

Finally it's Presbyterian High's Carnival Day. Missed the opening ceremony which was at 10am (was there only at about 1.30pm) and missed Joey's CO performance too. It seemed that the carnival has attracted quite alot of the kids from SPS as I ran into quite a number of them on my way there. The school was packed with people and I was actually 'lost' amid all the activities. Managed to locate one of my ex-kids, Sylvia, after I gave her a call. She was with Alicia and gang at the Haunted Room. Ventured round the school with them and bumped into more ex-students, some of whom I have not met since they left SPS. Was glad to be seeing them again and among them was Shi Xian who is a student of PHS. She hasn't grown much (at least in term of height) and was still as soft-spoken as she used to be. Then there was Yiling whose cousin, Amanda, is a student of PHS. She hasn't changed much either, at least in appearance. Then there was a discovery which was quite unexpected. Baoren, former SPS Head Prefect, is a senior student of PHS. Have actually expected him to be in one of the premier schools. Anyway PHS is also a premier school in that area.

Indeed, I was so busy catching up with my ex-kids that I didn't really participate in any of the activities, except to play a game at Alicia's stall where I threw darts at balloons and won a pen. Watched some performances in the school hall, one of which was a skipping presentation by ex-students of SPS, namely Gladys (student of PHS), Enna and Fiona. There were also some other dance and singing performances by PHS students and some outside organisations. I also spent quite some time watching 'live' band performances by PHS current and ex-students. These kids really love their music and I could see that they are as devoted to their music as they are to their Lord. They really sang their hearts out and the audience was also very responsive and supportive, in fact there were even gals who screamed crazily at the good-looking male performers.

Though my niece was present, I didn't get to see her as she was on duty backstage (she is in the PA team), with no time for break as the performance on stage followed closely behind each other. Ran into her brother instead but I was too busy mingling with my kids that I left him with my father. Nevertheless, I had a great but tiring (with all the standing and walking) time catching up with my kids especially with those who used to visit me at my cafe. It was sort of a reunion for us since the 'collapse' of my cafe and I looked forward to more of such reunion.
